The SOLO SCHOOL is delighted to launch its residential program hosted at Aercwell Mill in the Forest of Dean, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Wales-England border.

The Solo School Residencies are a 3 to 7 day tailored immersion for artists seeking to connect deeply to their creative work. It is an opportunity to cut off from the everyday and focus on your creative world.

The residencies are designed to offer artists working in the performance arts or film a space to develop their project with facilitative and dramaturgical support from the Solo School. The residencies are also for those seeking to deepen their creative practice, with time and facilities to allow an artists relationship to their practice to transform and evolve.

During the residency, artists stay at Aercwell Mill, the site of a 300 year old mill within 1-acre of gardens and surrounded by forest. Artists work with Solo School Founder, Henry McGrath and have the option to work with Eleanor Buchan* through special interest and negotiation.

Artists have the ability to curate the structure of their own residency, designing contact hours, studio hours and accommodation requirements, allowing the work to be accessible and focussed.

*Eleanor Buchan's work is rooted in the mythic imagination, in storytelling and ritual. Please enquire with interest for further details
